Eid al-Adha, or the “Festival of Sacrifice,” is one of two major festivals in Islam, commemorating the Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God. It marks the culmination of the Hajj pilgrimage and occurs on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the last month of the Islamic calendar.
